Here's my pirate joke:
'Twas a dark and stormy night and the pirates were huddled in their cave when one of them spoke up and said, 'Cap'n Jake, spin us a yarn!' And so Cap'n Jake began,'Twas a dark and stormy night and the pirates...'
Always made my literacy pupils laugh their socks off (once I'd explained what 'spin us a yarn' meant!)

There's no better first mate than a dog. Mine is sitting right here- tho the pirate ship gets pretty hairy. So cute- these two!
