The "Joy" of Fall apples

I actually drew this while waiting for my car to get the oil changed! That seemed like the only time I had this week for some sketching. Just busy with work, but that's good, right?

With this sketch, I figured I'd depict the apple at a different scale. I don't know why, it just came to me. Trying to use my imagination I thought of a miniature world of lady bug fairies and their pet centipedes. She's calling him to come in. It's time to eat some apple donuts!

It's all about the Apple Cider (DONUTS)

I LOVE apple picking. I love the scenery - I love the act of picking each one off of the trees. I love the Fall air- the sweatshirt wearing - golden sunlight bouncing off of the red, yellow and orange colored world of the orchard. I really really LOVE hot apple cider in  a cup warming the chill off of my hands. BUT - all of this love pales in comparison to my love for the apple cider donut. At the end of the day- a warm, brown paper bag- slightly oil stained.. inside is the freshly baked- cinnamon and sugar coated donuts. Stick your head in the bag and inhale...  the smell of Autumn!!!MMMMMmmmmmmm

The perfect ending to a perfect Fall day. I will be there the end of September in Massachusetts - come on and join me- you know you want to!!

Diandra-The Apple(s) of Her Eye

Or alternately titled "While the Cat's Away." haha! A mother just can't leave her kitchen in the middle of baking (even if the phone is ringing) because look who decides they need a sample of goodies! 

Fall is on its way, and it can't get here soon enough. I'm already planning all of the goodies to be baked: cobblers, muffins, pot-pies...all kinds of yummy goodness! My three year old really loves helping in the kitchen, and will even mimic my actions in his play kitchen as well. We bake together quite a bit and he knows that he always gets to lick the beater or spatula. The baby is too little to do much besides smile at us, but I have a feeling that this scene will be playing itself out in my own kitchen soon enough!

Priscilla ~ Back To School Apple

This sketch started out pretty standard.  Sweet and thoughtful little girl bringing a perfect red apple for her new teacher.  But, then her mom decided to step it up and get in good standing, right at the beginning of the new school year, by having her daughter bring in instead, a beautiful red candy apple!

Of course, I never did this.  =0)  But it actually doesn't sound too bad of an idea. . . .
