Secondary Characters

I'm working on sketches for another book idea. This pooch is just one character. I always start with characters before anything. To me it's of course the funnest part!

Drawing hands is not easy. I drew this, erased it, re-drew it, and so on for quite a long time before I got it the way I liked it. Bicycles are also very hard to draw. Luckily, this was not a picture of a hand pointing to a bicycle. That would have been horrible.
