Characters, characters, characters...

As with probably most illustrators, my favorite part of working up a story is designing the characters! Searching and searching, drawing after drawing. Here is a ittsy bittsy section from my sketchbook of some character exploring I'm doing for a story idea.

A New Week Begins

Super Kid

My daughter's teacher sent home a little cloud for the parents to write down their hopes and dreams for their kids in the upcoming school year. I had to draw on it, of course, and wrote down that I wanted my daughter to have a year as awesome as she is. Here's wishing all the kids a great school year!
