Hello New Week

Clouds are their favorite.

Two little friends having to say goodbye, as one is moving away.

Kerrie will keep that little cloud drawing as a reminder of her best friend Casey who loved looking at clouds, too.

Blue Penguins! Who knew?

Did anyone know that the smallest penguin (13 inches tall) is the Blue Penguin? A blue penguin?! They are usually found in Australia and New Zealand and are also called Fairy Penguins!

A Penguin Holiday!

Her students, past and present, knew well of her love of penguins, but happy gasps of surprise could be heard down the hall when she magically made a penguin appear on their classroom wall!
This was only one of a million trillion reasons she was a favorite teacher to them all.

My lion is demonstrating the lion's share of sadness here, but he's not allowed to say why yet -- the final art isn't done yet. This is a detail from a sketch for the picture book I'm working on, but it probably won't make it into the final book; my next sketch will be this lion looking out a different window. We'll see how it goes.

Creature

This morning I woke up from a dream where I was crawling through a murky marshy obstacle course that was overrun by sneaky alligators. When I reached safety, I had to scan a barcode that was hanging from my neck on a lanyard. I was then ushered to safety through a wooden gate by the fellow above. He was very large, a deep rusty color, and seemed to be made of metal. When I whispered thank you to him, he replied with a single word: "Welcome."
