She loves reassuring her leaf friends. Later, she'll love seeing them flutter here and there down to the ground, and she will sing her Happy Fall Song to them.

'Tis Fall
It's fall already. In a few minutes it will be winter (at least in my neck of the woods).
I didn't mean for this little bird to look melancholy.
And I didn't mean to feel that way myself.
I suppose more drawing will fix my mood...
Wheeeee! That's better.

For quiet play, here's a How To Draw A Tiger bookmark.
Personally, I am a games person (just like Ellie McDoodle). Here are some bookmarks that fold into triangle-shaped paper footballs, to play finger football with your friends:
Have fun out there! Play is serious business!

The Witches
"Come down out of that tree, little boy, " she said, "and I shall give you the most exciting present you've ever had." Her voice had a curious rasping quality. It made a sort of metallic sound, as though her throat was full of drawing-pins.
Without taking her eyes from my face, she very slowly put one of those gloved hands into her purse and drew out a small green snake. She held it up for me to see.
"It's tame, " she said.

Shine - Roald Dahl Quote
Celebrating the wit, wisdom and beloved characters of Roald Dahl this week. I love this quote, and love it even more when read in context:
“If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until you can hardly bear to look at it.
A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.”
(Roald Dahl, The Twits)

Back to school!
It's back to school time.
And *I* am going back to school -- I'm taking art lessons.
Here's an example of what I am working on.
