Happy Dog Day!

It was National Dog Day two days ago.
Coincidentally that's when we welcomed a third dog into our home, temporarily.
Here are my two dogs, Clarence (the big guy) and Hammy (the little guy).

The third pup, Rozzy, who is Clarence's sister, is in another room snoozing on the couch. Clarence sleeps under my desk and sometimes Hammy climbs on top of him to sleep. Also in the bed is an "indestructible" toy rabbit which Clarence loves but which is definitely destructible, and a cow femur which Clarence sometimes treats as a toy.
We have three dogs for a little while because -- yay!!! -- my son and his wife are in the hospital for the birth of their baby and we agreed to watch Rozzy for them.
Everyone at my house is crossing fingers the birth goes well. We should have news soon.

This is what my boy looked like as a baby.
This image is from a book about babies that I wrote for this new baby.

(Ohhh, he doesn't know yet, but there are no dogs allowed at school, even on National Dog Day, which is August 26th)    Shucks.

We'll be posting all kinds of fun sketches this week ~ Happy New Week to you!

Farmer's Market! -Joy

A quick sketch playing with colored pencil. Yeah, I need to practice more :o/

My family and I always love going to the farmer's market. I mean, locally grown, lots of organic choices, inexpensive fruits, veggies, bread and more! How can you go wrong?!

Have a great weekend, all!

Farmer's Market

Sometimes, given a theme...my mind just sort of wanders off the reservation.

Surfer Music

Last night I was driving my kid to gymnastics and a picture just popped into my head. I keep a little notepad in my car just in case I hear music that I really like on the radio (the reverse of the paper has Surfer Music, Dick Dale, and the Dum Dum Girls written on it).  As soon as we got to the parking lot, I scribbled down my idea so I wouldn't forget it. So, I thought it would be neat to share something that is but a wee bit of something that might or might not ever turn into anything that resembles anything to anyone but me.
