It's about playing outside this week on the Sketchables! I wasn't outside, but with this illustration I "played" with some different brushes in Photoshop. These are from Kyle's Paintbox and they are the gouache set. It's always fun to explore and play with your art.
Have a great weekend and be sure to go out and play!
When she grows up she will have at least 5 pets at the same time, but for now she has plenty of imagination to enjoy while she plays outside! This week we are highlighting the Nickelodeon-sponsored "World Wide Day of Play" by posting printables for you! For this 8 x 10 color printable, please right click to save image to your computer, and print out! Hoping you enjoy some outside in the real air play this week, letting your imagination run wild! Cheers, Priscilla
"Come down out of that tree, little boy, " she said, "and I shall give you the most exciting present you've ever had." Her voice had a curious rasping quality. It made a sort of metallic sound, as though her throat was full of drawing-pins. Without taking her eyes from my face, she very slowly put one of those gloved hands into her purse and drew out a small green snake. She held it up for me to see. "It's tame, " she said.
Celebrating the wit, wisdom and beloved characters of Roald Dahl this week. I love this quote, and love it even more when read in context:
“If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And
when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year,
the face gets uglier and uglier until you can hardly bear to look at it.
A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a
wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth,
but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like
sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” (Roald Dahl, The Twits)
