Finding a character

Another page from my sketchbook, figuring out a ladybug character. Often I'll use reference and draw an animal. Then after sorting out the characteristics of the animal, I then draw it many times in my own style. Here I change things and giving it more personality. The sketchbook is where I figure things out and problem solve. Oh, and then there are random bears wearing bow ties that show up.

Farm Sketches

Kids and farm animals - that was today's sketches.

Sketches for my Make Art That Sells homework. Loving this online class.
Chickens - so spunky.

These two! They need a big adventure.

Tea Party

My youngest asked me to draw animals in a cafe and this
is what happened. I didn't sketch with pencil first, so there
are things I would change, but I really hope that I could
attend a tea party like this someday. That would be the best!

Floral Sketches

I've been busy working on assignments for Lilla Roger's Make Art That Sells Home Decor Course. I like to start each assignment drawing sketches with my beloved Pentel brush marker.

Here are the paintings taken from the sketches. I'm learning a ton in class, it's a little overwhelming at times as I learn about this new market and practice a new way of thinking!

Bear Day

It's Bear Day sometime, but he wants to celebrate it today, so I said sure, why not.

Pigment Marker Sketch

Sketches with my new Winsor and Newton pigment markers. Boy are these fun. The white blender and painterly quality are so appealing. New art supplies make my day!
