This is Olive Greenly. I developed her years ago and need to get back to her. She's an environmentally conscious whipper-snapper who wants to lead by example. She's always thinking about her carbon footprint and what better way to celebrate bike month!

Mother's Day and sneak peak

I figured I'd show a sketch for one of my illustrations I'm working on right now. It's pretty appropriate for the Mother's Day theme. The painting is done, but I'll save that for when the book is published.

Now that I'm a mom, I really think every day should be Mother's Day!

Wild Things!- Joy

I think Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are" is my go-to book for Children's Book Week. It's the first classic I think of and one of my all time favorites.

Mr. Sendak passed away earlier this week. His talent will be sorely missed in the world. He was an inspiration to many. Rest in peace, sir.

Book Week! -Kelly

Up at my house in Amherst, MA we had an amazing birch tree. The first day we drove up the driveway - Maggie got out of the car and ran right to it. "My Tree!" - Book in hand she sat for hours and hours reading in that tree. When a freak ice storm hit MA last Fall, the tree imploded. I saw it, lying there, like a corpse. It lived well over a hundred years but died far too soon for Maggie. When I called and told her what had happened, again I heard "My Tree!"  I wish she could still sit there... We plan on planting another.

Children's Book Week celebrations (and sketches) begin today!  A great excuse to re-enjoy our favorite book(s) to our heart's delight!

When I hear the term "April Showers" I always think of the song from Disney's Bambi. This isn't from Bambi, obviously, but I had this image in my mind. So, I went with it :o).
